Hong Kong Gourmet is awarded with “ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems Certification” by SGS (HK) Limited. We also awarded the
official food caterer of the Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games which validated our facilities and equipments are of the highest standards. More importantly, our food planning ability, food safety standards, staff training, logistics, and emergency handling capability comply with the international standards.
The globally recognized ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems qualification is recommended by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, HKSAR. Hong Kong Gourmet monitors the entire food supply chain, from tracking food sources, monitoring ingredients quality, food packaging, to ensuring food safety and hygiene standards in the cooking process. Staff training on food safety is emphasized with an aim to reduce the risks of food borne illnesses and cross contamination.
ISO 22000 encompasses a number of internationally recognized food safety principles such as HACCP, the international code of practice on principles of food hygiene, and quality management systems, which aims to achieve continual improvement as well as increase the effectiveness of organizations implementing them.
To meet the ISO 22000 standards, Hong Kong Gourmet requires suppliers to identify food sources and submit safety certificates. We have an internal QC team to sample food materials and send products for microbiological and chemical tests. Staff personal hygiene and environmental hygiene are continuously monitored and frequently audited. The Quality Assurance Team also mapped out workflow of various food products handling, storage, temperature control, and sanitization requirements.
